Which cable do I need? NZ/AU: USB-to-DB9 female RS-232 (FTDI), null modem. UK/EU: USB-to-DB25 male RS-232 (FTDI). US/CA: USB-to-DB9 male RS-232 (FTDI). Plus a USB-C OTG adapter if your phone has USB-C.
Do I need root access? No. HHTraff runs on standard Android 8.0 or later with USB OTG support.
Can I use HHTraff on iPhone? No — Android only. iOS does not permit direct USB serial access for third-party apps.
What controllers are supported? Any controller with a text-based RS-232 serial interface. Confirmed: ATSC4, ATC, Tyco, Eclipse, QTC and SWARCO in NZ and Australia. Untested: TOPAS 2500B, TR 2500, MCE 0141, NEMA TS2, Peek ATC-1000, McCain and Econolite.
