HHTraff connects over USB OTG with a standard FTDI serial cable, or wirelessly by pairing an IRXON BT-580 Bluetooth serial adapter. Bluetooth does not work with QTC controllers — that is a limitation of the QTC controller itself, not of HHTraff, so QTC sites connect over USB.
Developed and field-tested on ATSC4-generation (TSC/4 specification) controllers — Aldridge ATSC4, Tyco Eclipse and QTC — the hardware behind most signalised intersections in New Zealand and Australia, including SCATS-coordinated networks. SWARCO ITC-3 is also supported. Controllers with a serial maintenance port such as TOPAS 2500B and NEMA TS2 are untested; they may work but we have not verified them.
The app downloads at no charge from the App Store and Google Play. The calculators are free forever and work offline with no account: Cable Sizer (AS/NZS 3008 derating), Voltage Drop (mV/A/m), Circuit Check, Earth Fault loop impedance, and Maximum Demand. The Terminal for traffic signal controllers is paid, and the two platforms are billed differently. On Android it is a per-seat subscription bought from phaselogic.app: NZ$12.50 per seat per month, or NZ$125 per seat per year (two months free). On iPhone and iPad it is bought inside the app through the App Store, billed to that Apple ID, and is not part of enterprise per-seat licensing.
One device per seat. Devices can be managed and revoked from your dashboard, and you can cancel at any time — access continues to the end of the period already paid for. There is no PIN on iOS: the Terminal is bought in-app through the App Store instead.
